Here's what happened then.
Last Thursday the bank said they would refund my $12 for the checks they ordered. I was fine with that. They said they would post it first thing Friday morning. I was ok with that.
I thought everything was fine.
Oh hells no.
I get a letter in the mail today saying that I had 2 items present on the 11th and I didn't have enough cash in the account to cover it. Wouldn't ya know it, it was the day before my husband put his paycheck in the bank, but that's another rant.
Anyway...the charges were for 5.14 and 6.54. Lets see...that's 11.68. Isn't that less than the goddamn $12 they took from me?!?!?!?! Since they took the money from me, it sent me into the negative. Fuck that.
I called the 1-800 number that was on the letter. That bitch was of no help. She said that she didn't see a connection between the money they took from me and the amount that was sent for insufficient funds. Uh..Hello? 11.68 is less than 12! Then she said that she couldn't even help me. So she transferred me to the branch that we started with when we opened our account a year and a half ago.
I explained everything that was going on to the woman that I talked to. She checked my account and saw exactly what I was talking about. She said that if they hadn't taken that money from me, I wouldn't have went into the negative. She also told me that they hadn't refunded my $12 yet. !?!?!?!?!!!
That pissed me off. She said that she was going to get ahold of the other branch and tell them what was going on. I told her that I didn't want to deal with them anymore because they had been so unhelpful. She said that she was going to make sure that they refunded my fees and my check cost today. She's sposed to call me back this afternoon.
I'm just so pissed off right now it isn't even funny.
