On the morning we left Hawaii, my mother and I got up at 5:30 in the morning to catch out flight, and we arrived in Los Angeles at 5 in the afternoon. As part of our tour, we had booked a shuttle bus to take us to our hotel in Anaheim (the Hotel Raddison).
The driver was late and snappy, loading out stuff into the bus as rough as possible. He got mad at the traffic, snarled and made no conversation. He also left the windows of the bus open the entire time. LA in January is freezing, and even though I was wearing warm clothes adjusting to the climate was hard (it was 35 Celsius back home). This was made worse by the fact that the DRIVER LEFT ALL THE GOD DAMN WINDOWS OPEN, the air was like ice. It was a two hour trip.
At arriving at the hotel, the driver did help us with our bags even though he did not stop snarling. As my mother was about to leave she gave him a tip. He then cleared his throat, put out his hand and gestured that my mother should give him another tip, which God bless her, she did.
Is it customary to tip twice? Os it that just him being greedy?
