I'm not sure if this qualifies as bad_service, but it's the closest thing I can think of.

So I'm pretty sure my university is selling my information to telemarketers. I live in the dorms, and they leave calls for both me and my roommate... that's why I think the university has to be giving out the information, my roommate has a cell phone and NEVER uses our dorm number, and I never put the dorm number down for anything, so. That in itself doesn't bother me too terribly much. I probably signed something at some point saying that was okay, and in all likelihood it's my fault.

However, I'm pretty sure it has to be the same company every time that's calling us. I say that, because 99% of the time, when I'm at home or not using my dorm phone, if a telemarketer calls and I say I'm not interested, they acknowledge it, right? Even if they don't STOP there, they at least say SOMETHING. EVERY TIME a telemarketer calls on the dorm phone, I say I'm not interested and they SIT THERE AND BREATHE. They don't acknowledge I said anything. Eventually either I hang up or they hang up... then two hours later they call back for my roommate. And my roommate usually isn't here, so on the off-chance she DOES want whatever they're selling I TELL them that, so then they call back 589347534 more times when she's STILL not there until I eventually tell them she's not interested either, just to be free of them. @_@

It's really starting to drive me up the fucking wall. I keep intending to say "put me on your do not call" list, not that they would acknowledge THAT any more than this... just... what the crap? Who decided that was a good telemarketing strategy?
