Best Buy update...

Friday I went back to Best Buy to see if I could get the free printer offer with the computer I bought days before.

I got a clerks attention and asked him and he went to ask someone else. He came back and took me over to the computer department and another clerk told me they were sold out of the printer being offered but said they would substitute a different(better)printer. fine with me! He gave me the printer and told me to show my receipt at customer service.

I go and stand in a huge line at customer service. After 40 minutes I explain the situation to the clerk. She has no idea what I'm talking about. Another clerk comes over...

CSC: Customer service clerk
Me: Yup..
CDC: Computer department clerk

Csc: Is there a problem here?

Me: I bought this computer system on Boxing Day and noticed 2 days later a printer was being offered
for free with the same system I bought. The sales guy told me I could get the printer.

CSC: Yes, but that was a while quantities last promotion and they sold out.

Me: Well the sales guy told me I could substitute it for this one.

CSC: Who told you that?!

Me: A guy in the computer department.

CSC: Come with me and show me.

We head over to the computer department and all I could remember of the first clerk was that he was tall, thin and white with short dark hair. I pointed to one guy and she approached him and interrupted him with a customer. She pointed to me while talking and he shook his head no. (FUUUUUCK!)

She came back and I told her he must be gone but he took me over to those guys and they told me I could have it. We approached the two clerks at a counter in the computer dept.

CSC: Did you tell this gentleman he could substitute this printer for the free printer offer?
CDC: Yes I did. (YAY!)
CSC: Why would you tell him that?
CDC: Because the memo told us to substitute printers, didn't you read the memo?
CSC: Memo? What memo?

He hands her the memo and points out the printers that are to substituted, and laughs.
She is a little annoyed that no one told her and tells him so, then laughs.
We go back to customer service and she refunded the computer then recharged the computer with the printer.
The poor people in line had to wait that much longer but i did get my free printer after the rebate.

Edit: I know it is now good service...is there such a community?
Anyway...this was the follow up to this post.
