I told the guy that Jagger stayes in the backyard, not to open the fence, he doesn't like strangers he hasn't been introduced too ect. The guy told me that he wouldnt be doing the work so I told him to please make sure the guys knew that they are NOT to go in the backyard. My dog is very sweet but I wasn't sure of his reaction to strangers in the yard. We have a beware of dog sign on the gate as warning. No problem right?
The workmen show up. They brought their dog. A little maybe 40 pound at the most lab and some other dog mix. Seeing this, I warn them about my dog. One of the guys rolls his eyes and goes "Yeah sure we got it" Rude but..I wasnt really worried. Jagger is outside and I'm getting ready for work when I hear one of the guys yelling. There is my dog, IN THE FRONT YARD. He is not doing anything but standing there looking around. I run outside to get him and the other dog growl ed and kinda nipped at me. Naturally my dog flips out and goes after it. I manage to grab my dog by the collar and I'm trying to pull Jagger away. I'm of course having a problem with it. I'm 130 pounds and the dog is 90 and putting all his weight to tear away from me to kill tis other dog.No help from the workmen. No one trying to grab that dog. I finally got Jagger in the house and noticed the gate to the back yard was open. I went back outside and asked the men if they had opened my gate. Yes they did. Naturally infuriated, I ask them why, after I had told them not to, they would do such an ignorant thing putting MY dog as well as theirs at risk. Guy makes a smart remark. I order them off my property and call the owner. Of course he is not in. I talk to the secretary who tells me that I will be paying for a full days work for those guys and that they will not be returning my upfront money to me. I'm waiting for the owner to call me today but does anyone have any suggestions as to anything else I could do? I'm not eally worried so much about the money, I want the work done though. I'm more angry that I didn't even get so much as an apology. Yes I'm a pet obsessed person but I think anyone would be upset about this. Any suggestions of what to say to the owner when he calls?
