Last week, when we stopped in, there were no customers so I thought this would be the perfect time to ask. Boy was that a mistake. Mom ordered first so I wouldn't keep her from her coffee fix, then it was my turn. I asked the gal behind the counter if they offered lactose free milk. She gave me that o_O look and said nothing, just stared at me. Thinking she didn't understand me, I said that I couldn't have regular milk/low fat/etc and was wondering blah blah blah. She literally look at me and said, "What the hell are you asking me????" very sarcastically and rather rudely. I wasn't sure what to say next so I asked for her manager, who wasn't around. Before I could just order the usual brew o the day, she just walked away from the counter, leaving me standing there. I stood there for a minute, in case she went to find someone else but she never came back. Mom finally came up and asked what was going on, I told her what had happened and she almost lost it.
I calmed her down a bit and then we both waited for someone to come back to the counter. When the girl came back, she looked at me again and said, "Look I don't know what the hell you are asking me and since I've been here for 3 years I've never had anyone ask whatever it is you're asking. So therefore we don't have it. Now, what do you want that we have?"
That was it for us. Mom took her coffee back up, left it on the counter and then we left.
Was that such a horrible question to ask? It sucks to be me when I love coffee and would love to be able to try some of the nifty cool stuff.
