Until a few days ago.
He gets to call home every few days and today I asked him how he was doing. Usually he doesn't have much to say, but he starts going into a rant about a bag of Lay's Sour Cream and Onion chips. He opened them and noticed that they were smelling odd, but he tasted one just to be sure. The entire bag was coated with a thick layer of the flavoring that they use, and they were stale to say the least. They were inedible unless you want to shit your guts out in an hour.
So he checks the back of the bag to see what's wrong with them, and they were made in January of last year and the expiration date was in July. There was also a stamp that said "Deport" on the bag, which means that they inspected it, realized that is was shit, and sent it to a the military. But the thing that bothers me the most about the whole thing is that they were made in Texas. With some of the food over there, it tastes differently because it's produced in India or wherever. But the fact that people at home are willing to send low quality products to the people that are fighting a war that they supported pisses me off to no end.
