My sister is getting married next month and needed to run to JoAnn Fabrics to pick up additional items to decorate the hall.
While there, they found a table filled with select Bridal items with a sign saying that all Bridal stuff was on clearance. Linn quickly began to finger thru the selection of tiaras they had. Some were not marked, so Linn took them up, along with an aisle runner to get them price checked.
The employee rolled her eyes but price checked the items and proceeded to tell Linn that the runner was not on clearance. Linn said okay and went back to where the items were to tell our mom.
Mom instantly flagged down another employee and asked about the runners. She said that the runner WAS on clearance and was only $11. Mom bought two. (I'm getting married next year)
Mom and Linn took their items to the checkout where the first employee refused to ring up the runner until they got it cut. Mom blinked in confusion and replied, "But it's an aisle runner."
Bitchy Employee: "It still has to be cut."
Mom: "No, bolts of fabric get cut. Runners don't."
BE: "Yes they do. You need to have it cut to the length you want."
Mom: "I've never heard of that."
At this moment the second employee happened by and overhearing the conversation, cut in telling the bitchy girl that aisle runners don't get cut.
Not sure if mom complained or not.
*EDIT* I stopped by JoAnn's myself after work and the aisle runners in question were packaged in plastic with labels and barcodes on the packaging. Not something that would jump out as needing to be cut since that would involve opening the sealed package.
