Program Creator 1: I'm sorry, but this course is only for advanced users and Department B doesn't use Program. You can't sign up for this, but is Department B interested in purchasing Program?
Me: I work for Department A and have been using Program for almost a year now. I need this course to become a Backup Administrator for Program.
PC 1: Oh, okay, we'll get back to you.
One week later:
Program Creator 2: I'm sorry, but this course is only for advanced users and Department B doesn't use Program. You can't sign up for this, but is Department B interested in purchasing Program?
Me: No. I work for Department A and have been using Program for a year now. I am not with Department B.
PC 2: Oh okay. I'll look into this and let you know what's going on. Unfortunately space is limited in the course so you may not be able to get in now, but I'll let the proper people know that we're the one's who messed up here.
So at this point I have our Program Administrator contact the company to confirm that I do, in fact, work with her and that I do use Program and that I have had all the required training to this point. Apparently that information didn't get passed down.
Three days later:
Program Creator 3: I'm sorry, but this course is only for advanced users and Department B doesn't use Program. You can't sign up for this, but is Department B interested in purchasing Program?
Me: I WORK FOR DEPARTMENT A! NOT B! Our Administrator contacted you to confirm this!
PC3: Oh, you should have told us that when you tried to sign up int he first place. Unfortunately the course is full now and there's no room. It will next be offered in November of next year.
I just cannot even begin to grasp what is going on here. The same conversation three times, the same clarification made all three times. I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong here and how to rectify it. ... not that it matters since I can't take the course now and therefore I can't properly do my job. Thankfully my boss is very understanding.
