I waited in line to return and the cashier was really bubbly and nice until she saw I had a return.
"Hi! How are you doin- Oh. You have a return" she said it in a nasty voice while giving me a dirty look. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt because maybe she had some personal investment in not getting returns and she was just reacting.
After that she kept up her nasty tone all through the transaction and kept glaring at me. I got angry after the first rude remark and made sure to keep eye contact. Eventually she was glaring less and less, and looking at the register to type in information, but her tone didn't change. Finally, when she handed me my return receipt her tone swung back to super bubbly again as she told me to have a nice day.
I was under the impression that Sephora's prices were high because of their willingness to sample and their return policy. It doesn't make any sense to be rude to a customer making a return. Especially because I find that the people who work at Sephoras are otherwise pretty nice and helpful.
