Turns out the reason my phone has not been delivered is that FedEx outright refuses to deliver phones to apartment buildings without a person there. Even if they leave the usual notice and the person signs it. Of course, no one told me this. And I wouldn't have known, and my package would have just been shipped back to the seller, if I had not called to find out what was going on when it didn't come today and tracking said it hadn't even left the facility.
And now I'm going to have to pay to take the bus to the nearest facility to get it. That was another issue because she was trying to insist the nearest facility was one that was more than an hour away and would involve taking 2 buses. We got it figured out, but the whole thing was so frustrating. And no matter how many times I insisted that I didn't mind the package being left, she refused.
I can understand their concern, but if customers are willing to have the package left, that should be the end of it. It is a ridiculous policy. And, of course, no one in my email communications with them ever mentioned that. They just said it would be delivered today, which it wasn't.
