The waitress wasn't around that often, and we stood at the front for 10 minutes in a mostly empty restaurant waiting for someone to bring us to the seats, but it wasn't bad service so much as just as so so restaurant.
The food was really good. I got fish and chips, and my fish consisted of one large piece that was difficult to eat because of the way it was shaped and then battered. But it tasted good, so it was fine.
We decided to order desert. I had seen apple strudel, one of my favorites, on the specials menu, so I ordered it. Big mistake. What came to me was not apple strudel. It was a plate that consisted of a tiny bit of baked apple in a strange sauce, mini pickles, crackers and cheese, and meat.
This is strudel:
Now, okay, maybe somewhere this is strudel? I kind of doubt it because strudel is a specific desert. However, if you put it on your specials menu with no description, you know exactly what people are going to be expecting. And when I expressed my shock, the waitress said something like "its the German way". Last I checked, strudel was German.
Sad thing is, this place was rated as the best Irish Pub in my city.
