The waitress comes and asks for our drink order as soon as we sat down, and I didn't know what I wanted yet, so I told her politely I wasn't sure and I wanted to give her my drink order when she comes back with the other drinks. She snorts and says "Oh, WOW, I can? REALLY?" and walks off. I was pretty shocked by that, because I was just trying to be polite because I know it's annoying to have to stand and wait while a person decides what they want. I didn't want to waste her time.
So she comes back, I order my drink. The rest of my party orders food, but I don't because I had met up with friends RIGHT AFTER going to lunch with my Mom. (I didn't know they wanted to go out to eat, else I would have met up with them later). I wasn't really even thirsty, but I figured I should at least order a drink if I'm going to sit there (and not water, something I had to pay for). When I told the waitress I wasn't going to order food, her reply was "Oh, of course you're not ordering".
The rest of the meal was uneventful except she screwed up my friend's order. She didn't even bother correcting the waitress because she knew she'd get some awful attitude.
The bill came out to $18.somethingunder50cents, and I was pissed my friends left a $3 tip. Normally we would have left like $5 for a bill that much, but I thought she deserved only a 10% tip for her shitty attitude. Is it really to much to ask to expect your server to NOT be a bitch?
