Cut for length!
That's what my boyfriend and I thought anyway, so we went into a pharmacy closer to his new place and asked the pharmacist if it was possible for him to call the other pharmacy (again of the SAME chain) and have them transfer his refill for his pain medication down to this much closer store so we could avoid a 40 minute drive. The pharmacist calls the other pharmacy, tells them to put back the prescription and to fax the order on over to this much closer pharmacy. He hangs up and tells us to come back in an hour to pick it up.
One hour later...
We come back, ask for his prescription. They don't have it. In fact, they have no record of his prescription ever being transferred over! So we ask them if they'll call the other pharmacy and talk to them about it.
Turns out, they ALSO have no record of his prescription ever being filled there at all and that they're going to need to fax over a request to his doctor. We explain that we already called to have them do this last Thursday. They insist there is no record. We ask to speak to the pharmacist who helped us earlier but he's on his lunch break.
This entire time they're looking at us like we're trying to swindle them out of pills. I know prescription drug abuse is a serious problem but the looks and the snotty tones we were given while politely trying to get his medication was extremely frustrating.
The pharmacy tells us we are going to have to call the other far away pharmacy and speak with them directly. They tell us that they have NO record of a prescription ever being filled at their pharmacy and they need a refill order from the doctor. We explain that we called earlier in the day and they said the prescription was ready for pick up again we get a very snooty attitude of "well, I don't know who YOU talked to but we don't have any record."
Frustrated, my boyfriend calls the close by pharmacy again and asks to speak with a manager. Again, they insist that there's no record of his prescription ever being sent over or ever being refilled. My boyfriend tells them to call the pharmacist who helped us earlier (A) and they say "no he's on his lunch break we can't call-- oh he just walked in please hold."
Pharmacist A gets in the phone, remembers exactly who my boyfriend is and says "I don't know what they're talking about, I left the order to be filled right next to the techs computer. Come in in 20 minutes I'll fill it myself."
It took us two hours and being treated like delinquents to get his medication, because someone didn't look in the 'TO FILL' pile.
TL;DR: It took over two hours to get a transferred prescription filled, while being accused of lying in very rude tones by multiple pharmacy staff members.
