Today at a local festival

ME: " . . . and I'd like some water, too, please."
WORKER: "We don't have any cold bottled water--just room-temperature tap water."
ME: "Fine. That'll do."

DUH!! I didn't say cold water, I said just plain "water." So it was completely unnecessary to tell me that it was neither cold nor bottled, as I didn't put any particular qualifications on what kind of water I wanted. Plain water from the spigot will do.

EDIT Retracted. Most people seem to think this is not a case of bad service, and I do see the point--the lady was trying to be helpful to make sure I wouldn't get upset when served warm tap water. Never mind.
