Just a quick question for anyone here that works in a super market. Is it store policy for a store to keep a gift card when it goes under a certain amount? I ask because I got a few $50 gift cards from my family for a super market, and the first time I use one, the total on my bill came to $48.XX and the girl working the register didn't give me the card back. It was my own stupidity for not noticing until I looked at my receipt later, and I'm not really complaining because there was only a little over $1 left on the card, but I would have liked to at least been given the option of keeping the card in case I needed to just come in for something small one night.
