Apparently there is a scanning average of those stupid loyalty cards posted in the backroom that they'd like you to aim for.
When she asks if you have a card and you say no... she'll scan one off the top of the new applicant pile.
Sounds good, right?
Well- There is a promo sign that says save $3 the first time you use your new CVS blah blah card. Someone just got seriously dicked because this girl will use it over and over before it goes onto an application- and it happens several times a day.
They aren't always doing YOU a favor.
Underestimating your consumer base.
Yes some people can't read a receipt. Yes they will freak out if they think they aren't getting the BOGO. This is part of your job?
same girl called up a manager to VOID MY TRANSACTION OUT FROM UNDER ME WHILE WITH A CUSTOMER.
Because I didn't scan her card FIRST before I started to ring up her BOGO. I scanned an item, then the card, and then I was pushed aside from my register while she paged for a transaction void.
As long as a card is scanned, there is a record of it on the tape and all your purchases are adjusted accordingly.
Her response: " No, see you do it first and then they can watch it on the screen and see what's happening and there's no argument "
It was a $39.99 item *sigh*
I told her in front of the customer that I have no problem taking my time to explain the receipt and answer any questions. I do however have a problem with bringing a manager up to the front for no reason what so ever and treating it as though my guests and I are the idiots.
