This happened probably a year ago, but I was reminded of it today.

My roommate and I wanted some subs, and we opted to call Jimmy John's for delivery. This was the first time calling them from our current address. I made the call and the script was the usual delivery script. The guy asked for my address, what I wanted, etc - then he asked for my number. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary here - every place I've ordered from has wanted my number in case they needed to call.

So I gave him my number. Then he asked when he should call it. I said, what? "When can I call it?" Suspicious now, I asked "For WHAT?"

"To kick it."

I hung up. He called back and I didn't answer. My roommate was cracking up, but at this point we had no idea if we were getting our food or not. She called them again after a couple hours and talked to someone else who informed her that we're just out of their delivery range. The address is the first thing they ask for, so that means the guy I talked to put it in, saw they couldn't deliver to us, and decided to have some fun. It was pretty amusing, but totally unprofessional.
