Got a couple doozies to share, one that happened to my mom and then to me.
Granted, my mother can be sensitive but after the eleventy-seven-hundreth time, yes..this was getting old. At a particular grocery store we usually frequent, whenever and wherever this cashier would see my mom she would say obnoxiously loud, "OHHH YOU'RE BACK -AGAIN- ??????" or "BOY YOU COME IN HERE A LOOOT!!!" It got to the point she started hating going in there because she dreaded the announcement of her arrival. Kinda made her paranoid too, she asked me if we really did shop there too often. Finally, the final time that girl said that I replied with an unhappy look in her direction, "And it is no one's business either, where or how often she shops." I think she got it. She didn't seem to last long as an employee there.. it wasn't long after that she either quit or was let go.
Next up, the million plate waiter:
We went out to eat at a family restaurant called by a certain man's name, before a fun day of movie and shopping. We both order off the breakfast menu and to be fair I did order a bit more than normal because 1. I was extra hungry that particular day and 2. I was paying. The waiter was OK, he kinda miffed mom off slightly but I can't remember why. Suffice it to say it wasn't serious and we blew it off. Then the food comes.. practically every portion of food separated on it's own plate [which is excessive and uneccessary sinced the plates are big enough to consolidate at least by half]. Waiter looks at me as he's putting down plate after plate, "Boy this is a lot of food, I just -don't- know where you'll put it." and shakes his head. Mom and I exchange glances, both in expression of disbelief. He sashay's off and I'm not sure what to think except how insulting that sounded.
Mom called a manager over, which ended up being stupid because all she did was make excuses for him and literally invade my space. "He probably didn't mean to insult you blah blah blah, don't cry over it blah blah blah" While she tells me not to cry over it she gets in my face and tries to wipe my face with her hand and is practically in my lap >.< She was acting just as unprofessional as he was and not once did I get an apology from him or from the manager. We didn't eat any of the food and thankfully she didn't charge us for it, but I would have rather paid for it and got the apology. I appreciate the fact she was -trying- to patch up the situation.. but as a manager I expected a better response than what an inexperienced waiter might come up with. And that is what she came off as - and I know she's been a manager for a long time because we were freqent customers and never had a problem at that location.
Mom has asked if I want to go to that restaurant [not necessarily the same location] and I may be being immature but I don't really want to pay people to insult me.
