So my boyfriend and I decided to get a kitten. We wanted to get one from the shelter, but they turned us down, so we decided to check pet stores. I called several stores in the area, asked about their prices, whether the cats had had their shots, whether they were fixed, what the requirements were, if any. I talked to a couple of stores where they said "Oh, we don't carry cats." Or "We don't actually have any cats right now." Fair enough, it's not really prime kitten season. We eventually narrowed our candidates to two. Store A had said they only had a few kittens on hand, and their price was a bit higher, so we decided to go to Store B. We got to the store and walked around a bit. We saw an enclosure with puppies, but no kittens. We came back up to the front. "Do you have kittens?"
The girl seemed kind of blank and just said "No, we don't have any right now."
"Okay, we called earlier and asked some questions, you should have told us that then."
And she didn't even apologize! She just looked at us! Jeez. It's not like it would have taken you much effort to redeem yourself from the bad service ghetto--just a "Sorry about that, I guess whoever you talked to spaced out on you."
