Last year I purchased an xBox 360, Halo Edition. The ones that were promised to us not to get the dreaded Red Ring of Death. The warranty expired a month later which I never bothered to find that big of a problem. Come late November it happens once, I shrug it off, just a power error since we accidentally unplugged everything on that side of my room. By mid to late December it happened again and just got progressively worse until in April I could no longer play a game for more than 5 to 10 minutes without it happening.
So I gave up, got online and put in a repair request. Was told to ship my console, everything would be good again in 2-3 weeks. That's fine because I had my brother's xBox 360. So I shipped it off when the box arrived and watched the repair status online.
Barely a week later, it arrives, is scanned in, repaired and shipped out all in one day. Honestly I should have been way more suspicious than I was, but I figured since so many consoles had this problem they knew what they were doing.
Boy was I wrong. I got back home tonight to continue playing, only to turn the system on and have it red ring immediately.
Microsoft is getting a call from me Monday, I am not happy and CANNOT afford a new system.
