I did call my lawyer, and he spoke to the district manager of Target in our region last week. In his humble lawyer opinion this is something that was so random and the employee was acting against Target code of conduct and policies and has been terminated. He says suing would be a waste of my time. I agree with him.
But surprisingly, I got a $100 gift card in the mail today from Target with a VERY nice apology letter from the regional manager. I thought I'd copy it for ya'll since it's nice to get a great resolution to horrible service.
Dear Mrs. Allywonderland,
I would like to apologize for the incident that occurred on April 29, 2009 at the ***** location. I was grateful for Mr. Mylawyer's contact with me regarding this incident as it allowed me the opportunity to inquire as to your address.
The actions of Mr. ******* were inexcusable and flew in the face of Target's corporate policies. Target strives to provide the best possible service in all circumstances; sadly, you did not receive the benefit of the training we provide to all employees.
Thank you for informing us about this incident so that we can provide further education to other employees regarding customers with disabilities and medical devices. Please let any staff member know if you encounter further difficulties while patronizing our stores.
Sincere apologies,
Mr. Manager
