an update on bad postal service that nearly killed my pets.

I'm posting this from my Nook; I appologize for all errors in advance.

This is an update on service from this post http://bad-service.livejournal.com/3274569.html

For reference, I sent the package (containing my pet fish) on April 16th, it was supposed to arrive on the 17th, and it did't actually get there until the 19th.

I eventually made it into the post office to process the refund a little over a week ago. Do they want to process the refund? Of course not! They say they don't guarantee shipping purchased online because "we can't say for certain when you shipped the package that day." So I pulled up the tracking which showed that I dropped off the package within half an hour of purchasing the shipping label. Then they say that, even though my receipt says "money back delivery guarantee by the 17th", according to their system, they had until the 20th to actually deliver it. "Guaranteed by the 17th" only meant that they'd get it statred by the 17th, not that it would be delivered. By the way, the 20th was a Sunday, so that made no sense.

In the end, I was getting nowhere with the troglodyte behind the counter, so I opened a dispute with my credit card. With any luck, their window to respond will pass due to the same beurocratic mess that got me there in the first place.

I find myself looking forward to the inevitable collapse of the entire federal postal service.

If you want business, know how to treat customers!

One of my best friends is getting married next month and I am a bridesmaid. Since she is doing everything in two months, she just sent us girls on our own to get dresses in her specified shade of blue. Easy enough!

Since I am Snooki-short, I need my dress hemmed. I call one place and tell the woman who referred me (her daughter, who works with my mom.) and I get 'ok, so what do you want?" in a very snotty tone. (She also answered the phone with this tone as well)

I am a bit taken aback, but figure maybe she is having a bad day. I explain my situation and she is like, 'ok fine, I guess I can help. When do you want to come?' (same tone) I pick a date and she sighs very loudly and is like 'well, do you know where that is?' I say no and ask for the address. She gives it to me in the same very snotty tone and hangs up before I can confirm anything.

A couple days later, I end up having a work meeting I can't get out of so I call her and ask if I can please change the date, and of course apologize. Mind you, this is at LEAST 72 hours notice. I get the same attitude and she tells me "you DO realize I am going on vacation next week, right? I am going to MEXICO!" You know, because I am psychic and would know this. I was so fed up at this point that I just tell her I'd call her back once she returned.

Luckily, I found a place in my price range next door to my mom's job and am getting it done for even LESS money.

Seriously, if you want people to give you business, can the attitude.
