Another story of Comcast sucking...

    My mother and I moved into a new apartment this Aug. So on Aug 15th she orders the equipment and gets a quote that it will be here in 3-5 days, making the delivery dated for the 22nd given weekends and screw up time..When the pacage didn't show up, a call was placed with comcast and guess what, they never shipped the stuff in the 1st place. They said they were shipping it out then, which was another lie. We ended up going into a center to get our equipment and comcast still tried to charge us the shipping fee.
       When we get to the store, they try to give us equipemnt we didn't order (we ordered 1 dvr box and another box and a wifi modem.) We ended up leaving with the right boxes, and not Wifi. That, of couse, can't be picked up in store. It can either be mailed to you, or a tech can bring it. My mom opted for it being mailed here, and that went over as well as getting the original items went. 
      During this process, we were regularly lied to about the items being shipped out and them working. 

Oh and a bonus. The 2nd cable box we got only gets TNT (it was NJN *new jeresy network*) so it's not worth having, but not worth dealing with comcast again to see if we can fix it.

I posted some of this story at customers_suck because it was sort of related to someone's post, but I thought that I'd post this here. Now, before I start I want to say that I have no idea what it's like to work with people at a respite center - I've worked with people who have disabilities, that's partly why this incident bothered me, but I'm not a professional by any means. It's entirely possible there were reasons the worker had to do what she did. However, I certainly don't get it.
