I was reminded of this incident earlier today.

Every couple months, I like to order pizza from a family-owned restaurant that's specific to my small town. It's flu season, and I had luckily gone two weeks without being sick, and I was craving their vegetarian pizza so I placed and order and waited impatiently!

The delivery person comes, and I run down to the lobby. I take the pizza and hand him my debit card. I'm zipping my wallet back up so I'm not paying attention to what he's doing, and I look up to see him with his hand around my debit card, in front of his face. And then he sneezes into his hand.

The hand with my debit card in it.

Essentially sneezing on my debit card.

And then he runs it through the machine and hands it back to me like it's no big deal. I mean, I know debit cards aren't exactly the cleanest objects on the planet, but I don't like people applying their phlegm on my belongings.

I guess what bothered me the most about the situation was that he was totally cool with the fact that he SNEEZED ON MY DEBIT CARD. He didn't have an expression of, "Oh god, what the fuck did I just do?" or apologise. Even today, I can't think about their pizzas without in turn thinking about this incident and deciding to order from somewhere else.
