Punished for being a good customer, wtf

I have my monthly bills planned out in advance. We used to get paid once a month, but when husband shifted companies [same job, different company XD], it went to 2-week cycles. So I have a nice little mini spreadsheet type thing to keep the bills organized.
Anyways.
Our first paycheck in November was on the 6th. As always, two days prior to the paycheck I went and schedule payments ahead for Best Buy and another card that takes a few days - all to be paid on the 6th.
Payment goes through, it's not due on husband's card til 11/29. Balances go down a bit. I assume everything is fine. Right?
Wrong! I log into husband's best buy account at the beginning of this month to see if we have enough money on his card to purchase something we're both wanting. There is a $39 late fee on the account, posted 11/29. Huh? Husband calls in, and is told we paid too early (!!!) and that they don't consider it a payment if it is paid 'too early'. They told him not to make payments prior to the 6th of the month. ... do we see the problem with this?
The supervisor he talks to 'kindly' reimburses us half of the $39 fee.
Going to make our next payment two days ago, and there is a $47 past due fee [I don't think we've ever been late paying his card. EVER.] in addition to our regular payment amount. That pretty much sealed it for us - we're going to pay off the card and not use it anymore, as we have a brand new shiny card with a ungodly high limit from our credit union.
WTF, HSBC, WTF. [since it's not Best Buy that's screwing us over, but HSBC]

Mail annoyances

I have lived in my current apartment for six months now, and am still receiving the last tenant's mail. My mailbox is clearly marked with my name, I've marked every single letter for this lady with "RETURN TO SENDER: RECIPIENT HAS MOVED" and I still get anywhere from 2-4 pieces of mail a day for her (she must have been popular, because people write to her all the time!) This usually isn't such a big deal but I have seriously received 16 Christmas cards this week for her.

Is there anything I can do? The landlord doesn't know where she moved to, and every note I leave for the mail carrier seems to be ignored.

If I had a car I would do it to you!

Awesome comm here, finally something to contribute...

I was heading back to my apartment from a store and took a shortcut through the back of my building (gated community with one entrance that is far too far to walk to). I watched the mailperson leave their deliveries and whatnot, get in their truck, and then proceed to go out of their way (there's 2 ways to leave our buildings area, but really only one logical way to go to keep delivering the mail to the rest of the complex b/c of the layout), and then purposely swerve to run over a duck, and also getting two of her babies while the rest got to watch. Who the hell does this??? Accidents happen (I cried when I used to drive and hit one accidentally), but trying your hardest to make one happen is just evil.

I ran after the truck and got the LP and truck number and reported it to the post office that delivers to us. I also have the 3 remaining ducklings in a shoebox waiting for animal rescue to show up (one of the hit ones almost made it but passed a few minutes ago) . I am in shock and just shaking right now and wish there was more for me to do about it, would this be worth reporting as animal abuse or just be dismissed as an accident? I didn't get a great look at the driver, unfortunately.
