gwen spidey

Mild annoying b_s.

For the past three weeks, I've been missing calls from a mysterious (804) number. They have called up to five times per day(!!) and never left a message. Being the curious person I am, I found out via internet that it is from Davids Bridal (or one of their many, many affiliates).

So, when they called yesterday, I actually picked up! Immediately, they asked me a series of questions. Such as "Have you purchased your bridal gown or bridesmaids dresses yet?" (read: my wedding is in 2011!) and when I responded with this, he said "Oh well, okay then =] Could I interest you in an appointment with BRIDALCOUNSELOR to help you pick out and purchase your dresses?"

Over and over, around and around we go, until apparently he finally understands that I have not bought them yet (and am now seriously considering not purchasing them there), and that I would like him to remove me from the list of numbers to be called for this crap "survey".

So, bad_service, fun fact?

Table Cat- so Gantu

Where, praytell, are my cookies?

This is only just teetering on the edge of bad service at the moment

I love, adore, and am adicted to Girl Scout cookies. Most prominently, Samoas. NOT 'Carmel Delites' (ugh), but the real, old school Samoas. I will, once a year, pay 3.50 a pop for a few boxes, even though they have fewer cookies in them every year. And every year, it is also more difficult to find Little Brownie Baker cookies (the original manufacturer; Carmel Delites and the other 'fakes' or remakes are produced by ABC Cookie Co.).

But yet, every year I manage to hunt down Samoas: Sometimes at a random booth sale, other times I actually find a local troop that sells my preffered cookies.

This year, I found a troop, just over the state border, that sells them. I ordered mine in advance this year. 3 boxes of Samoas for me, and two for my friend in NYC, as well as a similar split of Thin Mints. it is in March, and I have no cookies. Cookies have arrived, I know for a fact. And, they have been distributed to the individual troops, I also know (due to booth sale dates that have come and gone).

I ordered from the troop leader, or cookie coordinator (I can't be sure which; they called me after I left a message on the cookie hotline). I have heard nothing about my cookies. So, I called and left a message at the number the cookie contact gave me, with my number and my name. I haven't heard back yet. You would think, running a bussiness (and yes, GS cookies are bussiness, even if they are for fundraising purposes) they would be a little better about a 10-box order.

I just want my cookies. I will gladly hand over payment for them, but I want them, gosh darnit!

She has a couple days to call me back- If I don't hear back from her by Sunday, I will go to the local booth sale and get them there. That gives them a total of over two weeks to make a phone call. I really am trying to be patient, but everyone else I know has already gotten their cookies, and it's making me jealous.

OK, so as I said, I was giving time for response- The lady just got back to me. They have been having family issues (I was being patient, btw)...I pick up my cookies on Friday.

All is well!

The $41.65 Charge I Did NOT Make!!!!!!

OK so here is the way it went...

I went online to check and see if my direct deposit had cleared the bank yet.  I need to keep check at all times on what has cleared the bank and when as I will be moving soon and need to know when it is safe to close the account and how much I have left to do things with.  That being said I checked the balance tonight in my cherub like demeanor. I look gazingly upon the bank's online banking screen.

It was then my jaw dropped open and I started pointing at the monitor and making a wheezing throaty noise that lead up to something that the fiance calls demonic possession.  The anti virus people I used a year ago charged me for this coming years service which I have not only not ordered or wanted, they had not emailed me or billed me warning me they would do so and time to cancel.  My service for this year is not even up yet!  I have a month to go yet they are all ready charging me AGAIN without my consent.  Well that sent the old proverbial blood pressure through the roof and this roof has cathedral ceiling if I may add.  So, being the business smart person I am, I look for their web site and get to the Contact Us portion that is hidden in gray at the bottom.  *They really hope you don't find it*  I find a toll free number and think "this will be easy and all will be well in no time.  NOT SO!  My call went sort of like this....

My bad service is not that I did not get the refund.  I am supposed to get a refund.  (full amount)  The bad service is why don't you bill people or email people to let them know this kind of thing?  They could save a lot of hassle with people if they would just notify them somehow and give them a time margin to respond.  If they don't respond in the time they get charged.  I could accept that.  Seriously I could.  But this charge out of nowhere?  No that is not good.  And for them doing this they will get me not recommending them to my customers, as well as I will NEVER use them again, and have all ready told my family what they did.  I can't believe that people could entertain the notion of doing this.   If I had not had enough money to cover it they would have made me have an overdraft charge to pay!  And 5 business days?  Come On!  I could handle 2 to 3 but 5??????  Seems a little long to me.
