the giving tree

You get paid to make me touch other people's food?

So, my boyfriend and I went to Taco Bell tonight, there were about 10 cars ahead of us and the was around 20 minutes. We didn't really mind, we expected it to be kind of busy on a Saturday night, we just chatted in the car while we waited.

The girl that took our order was very sharp, I asked for light beans on my burrito and she immediately repeated it back, she gave us very good_serivce.

Then....we get the the second window. Some guy saunters up to the window in street clothes, first bad sign. He grabs a couple bags of food, hands them to us, and says "which one is yours?" My boyfriend being a nice, quiet kind of guy starts to shuffle through the bags to try to figure out which one was our order.

I asked him to please tell us what was in them (I don't think we should be handling other customers food and I couldn't understand why he had no idea what was in the bags), to which he replied.....

"Yeah, I just got on shift and the Mexican that took your order didn't speak English. Yeah, i know, it pisses me off too."

I think he was just trying to shift the blame off of himself, because I looked pretty appalled when asked to literally riffle through other customer's food to find my own, but it was totally unacceptable.

He wasn't dressed properly, he wasn't at all concerned with getting customers the right food and he bashed his co-worker for no good reason.

On top of it, our order was completely wrong and totally cold. Bleh, left a really bad taste in my mouth.

Also, one wtf angle, was that he kept trying to shaft off three drink son us that we didn't order. I think he made them by mistake and didn't want his manager to see (?).

stupid pharmacy sucks

So my family and I have gone to a particular locally-owned pharmacy for YEARS. A couple or three years ago, they decided to be a Rite-Aid pharmacy, but never got the rite aid register system because it doesn't allow them to do a LOT of the things that their customers expect from them. For example, they would have no way of writing in the system that I need sugar-free cough syrups when my script gets faxed in. Or they would have no way of having an alert screen pop up when I get prescribed a medication I'm allergic to, or would have an interaction with another medication.

This pharmacy was GREAT. Offered free delivery, though I never used it, the staff was excellent and the pharmacist was helpful and friendly. Collapse )

Well, the one girl was nice enough, but the entire experience sucked. I do like the idea of refilling my meds online though, so I may just stick with going to another walgreen's, because the pharmacy-only place (that has expired OTC's on the shelves because they just don't sell there) says the money isn't in the shelf products and won't stock them. I don't know though. I just wanted my amoxicilin so I could go home.

the fuckin nerve of some people...

okay, this one just made me angry. like really really made me angry. to the point where i needed to go punch a wall/punching bag/run 3 miles to calm down, angry.

I went with my sister, mom, future brother-in-law and his mom jewelry shopping today in Bellaire (the Chinatown part of Houston). (it needs to be pointed out that i am chinese/vietnamese. my family mostly speaks chinese when we are talking amongst ourselves. his brother in law is a white guy.) We were looking for wedding bands and a nice necklace/earring set because in our culture, the groom's family is supposed to gift the bride a jewelry set so that if the marriage doesnt work, the bride isn't left without a means to live.

anyway, we went to the mall in chinatown. the entire day was great. we found a few pieces we liked but we're ready to commit to anything. then we went to the last store...
