I know that this is nothing compared to what some of you have experienced, but it really bugged me.
I've been watching what I eat and drink lately, but decided to treat myself to an iced latte earlier tonight. So, I pulled into the Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru and got up to the panel. I'd been sitting there for about 15 seconds when I hear the speaker come on.
"Who are you looking for? Jenna? Hold on, I think she might be on her break, let me look. Jenna? Hey, Jenna, your sister-in-law's here to see you. Okay, she'll be right out yeah, what do you want?"
I was a bit thrown off by this, but recovered quickly. I said "Hi, um, I'd like a medium iced mocha latte with sk-"
"What, a medium caramel latte?"
"No, a medium iced mocha latte please, wi-"
"Yeah, okay, whatever, drive up" and the speaker turned off.
I was pissed off about that - I mean, I wasn't told my total, or asked if there was anything else I'd like, or even given a chance to finish my order. I was going to say something when I got to the window, but there was a line forming behind me and a different girl on the register (and actually friendly too) than the one who took my order.
...at least the whole milk will help me get rid of it faster.
I'm sorry, I should've clarified - the person who was there to see Jenna was someone inside - the turned on her headset WAAAY before acknowledging me.
