Some hope out there!

I am posting this here because I want to give you all hope. Or at least get you all to move to Toronto. Mmm. Best restaurants, I swear.

We went to Grill Time near College since we were starved. We ordered 2 all you can eat dinners (v. good price $12.99/person) and yes we got served at the table. Whatever we wanted, we got. The system in this restaurant is very few items are cooked; the rest you cook yourself on a small but very fast grill. The waiters were fast; once you asked them for something, you could expect it at the latest in 5 minutes (!) and the earliest in 30 seconds. (which kind of freaked me out.)

Minor things: They advertised green tea icecream, which both my SO and I love so we ordered some, but another waitress returned, with a red bean icecream, apologised profusely and let us know there was NO green tea ice-cream to be had. Dessert was on the house, and I enjoyed my red bean ice-cream. (I'd never tried it before)

You didn't have just one or two waiters serve you, but more or less the entire staff. This was confusing at times, but they were all friendly and of course spoke great English. (Toronto is very multicultural, 90% immigrants, I swear.)

A tall cute waiter (Asian with the cutest goatee. Large eyes omg) spilled Nestea on my hand, while pouring it into my glass. He was extremely apologetic (it wasn't even hot liquid, it's not like I'd die or anything!) while I said "It's okay, do you have napkins?" and promptly wiped myself and matter was forgotten. I've never had that happen to me ever so I actually found it funny.

We were also brought fresh fruit at the table, at the end. I liked it very much since it was melon, and watermelon... mm good.

I'm not exactly sure if this is bad service or just me being annoyed...

Three weeks ago, my mom ordered new shoes for me from Fingerhut and I waited a week and no shoes arrived, my mom called customer service and they said the shoes were on the way and should arrive soon. Well no shoes arrived and I gave it about another week and a half and still no shoes. My mom was on vacation so I had to wait until I could call her without charging her a arm and a leg. So on Wednesday I called her and gave her the info to call customer service again. They said the shoes had arrived in Vancouver and should be delievered Thursday-Saturday. No shoes. So I am giving them until today. They told my mom they shipped the Shoes USPS. So it could be bad service on both part. I think it's silly that big companies use the USPS but thats just me. I dont know... I'm just annoyed.

Anyways, thanks for letting me ramble ^.^;

Edit: Thank you for all your replies. We didn't know Fingerhut was that bad or evil. I really do hope my shoes come today... with rainy weather and a two holes in your left shoe really sucks.

Edit again: My mom called customer service and they said that they have a 30 day shipping policy and there is nothing they can do about it until it's been 30 days. This was after we were told they just gotten into Vancouver and should've been gotten them by now... Methinks they just shipped them.

Bad service at the Doctor's Office.

I don't know if this qualifies as bad service but it does to me.

For the past three years I have had a great doctor. Her name was Elizabeth Laffey. She was competent, relaxed, and open and willing to discuss all aspects of my life. As a gay man in a long term relationship it was important to me that I have a doctor that I can be completely open and honest with.

I have had a small medical issue over the past couple of weeks and decided it was time to go see the doctor. I called the office and learned that what was once under the control of St. Louis University was now under the control of the Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation. No big deal I thought, I will just make the appointment and see Dr. Laffey.

When I got the appointment nurse I was told that Dr. Laffey was no longer in practice there and that I was now under the care of Dr. Barron.

Now, I understand that staffing changes may occur. But it would have been nice to have gotten a letter saying that Dr. Laffey was leaving and that from now on I would be seeing Dr. Barron. I mean I already had a relationship with Dr. Laffey. She knew my issues and various health concerns. As such I don't think that it is unreasonable to expect that I would be notified when my primary care doctor is changed. I really feel like I was traded like a baseball card and that I am expected to just take which ever doctor I am assigned.

Am I justified for feeling this way or am I just being an Entitlement Bastard?

I worked a 12/hr shift last night and figured I would stop off at Walmart this morning to get an oil change on my car before going home. I thought if I get there just before it opens I should be in and out in less then an hour......HA!
