Not really a bad service experience but I wanted to talk about it anyway. I managed to get two weeks off (since my boss is such a jerk it was a great acheivement). However, I have a cat and unfortunately I was unable to find anyone to look after her so I boarded her at my vets. They told me it would cost $12 a day plus a $20 shot against kennel cough equaling $188. That was fine. Due to problems with my flight I ended up having to pick her up two days later. I called 24 hours ahead of time so I wouldn't get a late pick-up charge. That made the total $212 or so I thought. Turns out that since my cat needs daily medication they charged me an extra dollar per day, they also gave her a feline distemper shot and flea treatment (a preventative measure against picking up fleas during her stay). This raised my cost to approxiamately $310!
Now, I'm fine with the fact that there was a fee for medicine application as my cat's not the friendliest thing on four legs. Also, the other medication they gave her was acceptable too. My problem is that they didn't mention any of these additional fees! I don't think this was bad service, but as a student I'm low on funds and if I had know about the additional money I would have budgeted better. Now I'm going to be strapped for cash until the end of the month when I get my next paycheck. I firmly believe in the fact that if you can't afford the vet you can't afford the pet so that's why I set aside $250 just in case. I didn't think it would go up to $310.
This is a general gripe and the service wasn't terrible, but to the folks at the McDonalds on Huron in Ypsilanti:
Firstly? Speed up. Yes, I'm talking to you. This is the third time in a row I've had to wait a totally unreasonably amount of time (10 minutes +) at a non-peak time.
Secondly? I hate, Hate, HATE when I get my order at a fast-food place, and whoever's packed the bag puts the fries in lying-down and then hands the bag to me so that the carton turns upside-down and all the fries fall out of the carton. Drives me right up the wall. Made my sandwich wrong? Gave me Diet instead of Coke? Forgot to add napkins to the bag? All totally human and ultimately forgivable errors (well, usually). But when I'm driving I really don't want to be doing the one-handed thing, trying to dig cold bagfries out from under my sandwich. Please learn how to put the fries in the bag. Augh! Is this really too much to ask?
No Love,
Next Time I'm Going to Wendy's

I'm moving into an apartment on the 15th. I determined this on August 6th so on the 8th I called the gas and electric companies, had them switch everything. No problem! Then directv goes without a shot but verizon.. I hate you.
I spent 1/2 hr on the phone ordering everything (DSL + Local service), getting my information set up and everything. I ordered on the 8th. It's all good, I get a confirmation email and several others stating what I ordered and phone numbers/service dates. The next day i get an email saying my DSL modem shipped and that good stuff,so I'm thinking OK everything is fine. 2 hours later I get an email saying my order was cancelled. Thanks a ton verizon. I call to try to remedy the situation and get an outsourced person so in frustration i hang up.
I call on the 10th and then it says my order has indeed been cancelled. No one can offer me ANY consolation, I have no explanation. I don't get a sorry for your troubles or anything. So I resubmit the order, i have it re-instated and told them I received the equipment already. So I'm holding onto it.
Cut to the 11th and I get a phone call saying I have 2 orders in. Supposedly something went through online???? It was late in the afternoon and I saw the message on the machine so cut to today, the 14th. I am supposed to have everything turned on tomorrow. They cancel the online order, tell me that my phone service will indeed be turned on tomorrow.
My dsl will not be on until the 25th. WHAT?!!!!
My original service date was the 16th for DSL. Now I'm being told that the systemdoesn't know that I've received the equipment but I'll be kept updated through my email about it. And there is no way an override can't go into effect?
I use the computer for EVERYTHING including but not limited to banking, bills, work (my schedule and all that good stuff), email (work, i'm a computer tech and we receive all noticed by email), and just communication in general.
I'm pretty pissed off that the reason I won't have DSL is because of a fuckup on THEIR end. They cancelled my order without my consent, then they didn't offer an explanation or apology, and I'm going to have to go 10 days in my apartment without the internet. I needed to vent because I don't think there is anything that can be done but UGH.
Only slightly off topic and perhaps a tad bit frustrated...
does anyone know how to get hold of someone on this side of the pond at Dell?
