Enough with fast food

The other morning I was running a little behind so I decided to skip breakfast at the house and pick it up on the way. I stop by burger king and there is no line. Yay. Anyway, I pull up to the speaker and place my order. A number one, ham and cheese, no egg with a Medium coke. Lady repeats it and asks if thats all. I say no that I would also like a French toast sticks KIDS meal with a kids sprite. She goes okay and repeats the order and everything correct. I get to the window, she tells me the price and it seems a little low. Then she hands me the drinks. Two small Sprites. The entire time she repeated back to me a medium coke and she hands me a small sprite, stating that those headsets are hard to hear. Id buy that if she hadn't said the correct thing everytime. Fortuantly, it gets fixed I am on my way. I get to the daycare and the hashbrowns arent there for the kids meal. I wish it was the only annoying experience at that place but alas its not. Normally, they mess it up by completely ignoring the ham, no egg. Giving me sausage and egg and of course Im on the other side of town. Oh how i wish there was another BK on my route to work.

Horrible carpet cleaning

I got a postcard from one of the local carpet cleaning companies that we used once. It annoys me to get their "hey, it's been a while since your last capet cleaning" postcards because we had to tear out our carpet in the living room AFTER they washed it.

It was over a year ago when we decided to use this particular company on the recommendation of a customer of ours. BIG MISTAKE. The day the guy came to wash our carpets was the day we had the plumber replacing our hot water heater. In fact, the plumber was finishing up at the same time the guy showed up. No big deal I thought since the other carpet cleaning companies we dealt with either only uses our water source or have their own machines and don't use our water source. Not this company.

I should have stopped him from going any further in the carpet cleaning when I saw that he had a machine similar to my carpet cleaner! He needed the HOT water from my tap which of course there was none. I told him it would be best if we rescheduled but he assured me it was no problem.

Two hours later he was done and my WHITE carpets in the living room ended up with a HUGE BLACK stain. He said there was probably something under the rug that bled up. I was pissed and didn't want to pay him but he kept insisting that it was MY fault that this giant black stain appeared. Note, the carpet was dirty but there wasn't a big black stain before! The stain couldn't come out with our carpet machine either and in the end, about three weeks later we had to tear out the carpet completely. Oh, and the carpet was only two years old and cost $15 a square FOOT.

I have never used them since and toss out their postcards each time it comes in the mail. Love my hardwood floors.

Sort of bad service, but more a WTF. I had the most surreal experience at Fry's not too long ago. My roomies and I stopped off after work to look for some stuff to create a new gaming computer, and while they went and looked for stuff, I excused myself to the Office Supply section to see if I could find myself a decent small photocopier for home use. I needed one that does a straight feed so I can copy my artwork that I intend to color onto a heavier poundage of paper. This way, I can color all I want with my markers and pencils, have the ink stay much better, and keep my originals fresh. I also sometimes like to just do a fast photocopy of a peice if I intend to send it off for publication somewhere.
