Two quick stories:
I ordered a Christmas present for a friend of mine on Amazon. They didn't have it themselves, but a private seller did. I really wanted the CD, so after reading through a ton of very good feedback, I decided to give it a try and order it from them. I received a confirmation email shortly after, everything seemed to be running smoothly. A week goes by, and I haven't received it yet, but I don't panic because I know that mail is VERY slow this time of year. This morning I receive an email notifying me that they are issuing a refund, because as it turns out they don't have the CD in stock. Of course by this point it is far too late for me to buy it anywhere else and still get it in time. I just don't understand why a) they advertised an item they did not have in stock, and b) they took an entire WEEK to realize they did not have it. Grr...
I am having a bit of a fight with Students Against Drunk Driving. They keep calling my home number while I am at work, sometimes up to 4 times per day. I am on the Do Not Call list, but apparently that doesn't include charities. (Note: I have never donated to them before.) So I call the 800 number back, trying to get in touch with someone to tell them to stop calling me. Granted, it isn't the end of the world to have them pop up on my caller ID, but it seems excessive. I couldn't get a real person, so I left a message with my name and phone number, asking to be placed on their Do Not Call list. The next day they called me 6 times. So I tried again, and left another message stating my full name (and spelling my last), repeating my phone number, and requesting, politely, that they STOP CALLING ME. The next day they called 3 times. Since I am not home when they call, and I can't get an operator by calling them, and they don't listen to messages, I apparently have no way of communicating with them my desire to have them leave me alone. Something tells me I will not be donating to them this year.
This seems to happen to me more and more often. Little background. I'm from Montreal (that's in Quebec, Canada for those who aren't aware) and I've noticed that it is getting to be more and more One for one....people don't care about people anymore. Growing up in a little town where you know everyone, this can be a bit harsh. So anyways....back to the rant. Cashiers, CSR, basically anyone dealing with customers......they have gotten so freakin rude. No matter the attitude of the customer. I'm the type to say Hi, How goes it? And all that blah blah. If I get a Hi back its almost considered a miracle. Anyways, I'm not saying everyone is like that but it happens more and more often.
