As a bit of a backstory, I had an absolutely horrible day at work today, which caused me to end up in tears at some point. It might become a customers_suck story if I feel up to it. Needless to say, I had puffy eyes, and my eye makeup was completely gone, and I looked and felt drained to boot.

Anyway, after work I decided to pop by the grocery store and pick up some diet Pepsi, and some lunch items for next week. Retail therapy even works on me if it's boring old grocery shopping. This probably makes me an absolute nerd. I'm ok with that.

Too Funny!

I have to post this link to a Customers_Suck post. It's a clear example of bad service due not to an employee's outright incompetence but rather due to the employees (and apparently management) not having a clue about how a promotion their company is running is supposed to work.

The ironic part is that the employee is calling the customer an idiot for not understanding the stores policies regarding the promotion when in reality the customer understands the promotion better than any employee or manager in the store!

bus driver

This happened a while back and I think I understand the reason behind it but it was still bad service.
I take the bus to and from work. I was on my cell phone (which I normally don't do while on the bus or at the bus stop, but it was an important call that came at the wrong time.)I was waiting for the bus to go home and saw it about half a block down. Traffic was pretty bad and it was just sort of inching forward. I kept my eye on it until it finally got close to me, at which point it began to pull out into traffic rather than toward the curb. I put up my hand thinking maybe the driver hadn't realized I was waiting and the bus pulled over and the doors opened. This conversation ensued.
Driver-where the hell do you get off?
Me-Hi-what?
Driver-I have been opening and closing my doors trying to get you to get on all the way up the street.
Me-I'm sorry I didn't notice.
Driver-Yeah well, you want me to come all the way over here-
Me- Are you just going to yell at me then?
Driver-I'm not yelling at you don't get crazy on me-
Me-Look, just let me off the bus, I'll wait for the next one.
So I got off and waited and got on the next bus. Now, at the time I thought wtf, this woman is crazy and mean and just what? It actually really hurt my feelings cause it had already been a bad day and I hadn't meant to do anything wrong. I discussed it with a friend later though and she said that the driver who was black probably thought that I (I'm white) thought I was too good to go over to where she was and then wanted her to come to me. I have no idea if this was the reason, but I actually hope it was because it kind of makes sense and means that the woman was not just randomly abusive. (It's still bad service though.)
Thoughts?

UGH. Ok, so my boyfriend called earlier this week and ordered our supply of firewood for the winter. He's told they can deliver it today in the morning. Great. He takes a half day off from work, and stays home, that way once it's delivered, he can stack it. Well, the morning passes by, and at noon, he calls them to find out why we haven't gotten a call or a delivery. He's told that they can't find any drivers to make the deliveries. WTF? Why schedule deliveries if you have no drivers? So, he reschedules the delivery for Thursday (the 27th) for after 4pm. At 12:50, as we're getting ready to walk out the door so I can drop him at work & go do shopping for this weekend (his parents are coming up), the phone rings. It's the wood place calling to tell us they can't deliver the wood today, and would we like to reschedule it. O_O BF proceeds to tell this girl (not the same one he spoke to earlier) that he called in an hour ago, and has already rescheduled it for after 4pm the 27th. She then says "we can't deliver it after 4 blah blah blah". So Jim (BF) says "I have already scheduled it, and it wasn't an issue" (he wasn't rude about it, he just stated a fact to her). She checks something, and tells him that they'll be out on Thursday after 4.

So, a half day of work missed, for no reason, AND, they couldn't bother to call earlier to let us know they weren't showing up.
