Dear Jewelry Store Associate,
My dear, I realize it is hard for you to grasp that I was not interested in having my face painted with your make-up. I did go to Beauty School long enough to learn you don't share make-up with another female, especially eye pencils. I was there to get a 3 stone diamond ring and wedding band to go with the band I already own. Your manager was ever so nice to help me. I think you should find other places to work, since you are so bored that you can apply make-up, sleep at the desk, and generally not be a help at all. I was amused when you told me that you offered "makeovers" like I needed one. I do not wear make-up and if I did, I wouldn't pile the shit on like you. I sure as hell do not tell a customer spending close to 800 (or any amount) that I would give them a makeover because that is basically telling that person, "Hey! You're ugly! Let me slather some make-up on you and maybe it will help." So, when I come in to make a payment on my new rings, which I love, keep all personal comments to yourself and get enough sleep the night before. Thanks.
Not sure if it was totally bad service, but it was annoying.
I love this Irish chain place called Clauddaugh. It's good, their fish and chips are awesome, they have huge portions, and they carry imported Irish Meade.
Well up until they changed ownership and some of their recipes.
They're are 6 of us but only 3 affected the most.
I order Meade, and Corned Beef dish.
My brother orders Guinness Stew.
His Gal orders Sheppards Pie.
We get 2 salads and a soup.
The other two people order sandwiches with fries.
She asks me about my drink, I say, "Meade, Irish Honey Wine. I order it all the time here."
Without checking with the bar she looks at me,"We don't have it."
"Can you check, just to make sure?"
"No, what would you like to drink"
Sigh. "Strongbough cider please".
The salads come out sans silverware. We remind. She goes away. 10 minutes pass. No waitress.
I send the nearest outside person to fetch.
Waitress never appologizes.
Now Sheppards Pie is almost stewish with meat-chunked, gravy (and sometimes veggies) covered by a crust of toasted mashed potatoes.
What she got was a large plate with no edge of ground beef-no gravy, no veggies and a small lump of mashed potatoes on top alittle underneath.
She was needless to say, upset. But the waitress was again no where to be seen after dumping the food at the table.
So we tried to make the best of our meals. Glasses went dry as we started to mock the "not pie".
And the Guiness Stew was neither Guinessy or even with much of a stew sauce.
A manager i've not seen before runs up to ask, "How is everything?"
"Everything is not fine. What's up with your sheppards pie?"
He explains that the company's interpitation is not the standard version of this well known almost universally prepared dish.
We say, "Well it would help to say so in the description of the dish"
My brother keeps quiet on the stew- it's not that big a deal that it's almost bland and doesn't have that much of a kick to it- it's still pretty good.
I ask, "Can you tell me when you'll be getting in more Meade? My friend Liz and I drink it when we come in here, usually once every 2 weeks or more."
"We have meade."
*GROWL* "That's not what your waitress said. Can you get me a glass please?"
Waitress runs up with the Meade. "I thought you said 'beade!'" she says with a fake smile.
"No, i told you HONEY WINE- and asked you to check to make sure."
She really had no answer for that and turns to escape our wrath.
Pluses for the restaurant- we got the Sheppards Pie comp'd.
But there's no excuse for ignoring us, arguing with us, and treating our group of 6 people like "eat and go". We were easily a $125 dollar table.
Just had to rant... I'm in the middle of moving and all I wanted was a nice evening at a good place.
We did tip, even though promptness was not ensured, the two unaffected checks gave 15%, and the other two, (my brother and i) gave 10% plus a penny.
This isn't really all that bad, but it definitely did leave me saying WTF?
I was at work last night and hungry and I remembered that new pizza with the breadsticks attached to the crust that Pizza Hut has, so I decided to order one. The guy on the phone asked me what kind of dipping sauce I wanted with that and I said marinara. The total was $13.42. I got out $16.00 to give to the delivery person thinking that $2.58 was a decent tip.
So the guy comes and says nothing to me. I say hi and smile and hand him the money. He still says nothing but counts the money, looks up at me with a look of total disdain as if I'd tipped him $.15 or something. He hands me the pizza, still says nothing and I say thank you and take the pizza. He says "yep." Yep was the only word he spoke during the whole exchange and after that look he gave and his rudeness I really wanted to ask for my $2.58 as he didn't deserve it in the least if he couldn't even say hi or thank you or anything else to me when I was nothing but extremely polite.
He leaves and I open my pizza. No sauce. Why did they ask me what kind I wanted if they weren't going to give it to me? The breadsticks weren't too fun with no sauce. The pizza was otherwise good but this leaves me feeling ripped off [for both the drivers attitude and the lack of sauce it wasn't worth $16.00].
I like Pizza Hut's pizza the best of any other chain but they are the most expensive [getting ridiculously so, IMO] and if they're going to have shitty service and not give your complete order than I think I'm through with them. I didn't call and complain [because I didn't want someone to have to bring me the sauce, especially if it was going to be that rude ass driver] and I don't plan on it because it's not worth it in my opinion...I will just not patronize that location anymore.
The point of this post is to ask, has something changed that I'm unaware of? My tip of $2.58 on a $13.42 order for one pizza was a little over 19%, I thought that was good? I know plenty of people around here that would have just rounded the order to $15.00 or even $14.00, which is cheap in my opinion but plenty of people do it.
I don't remember if I ever posted this, but I still remember it from way back when I was a kid. To this day I hate pizza hut. I'll eat Dominoes or somewhere else any day! But back to the story...
I can't remember what we were doing but my parents had been working the whole day. They were hungry and tired. It was about 5:00 when we ordered. Nothing too crazy, a couple pizzas for dinner. We wait for amost an hour and the pizza comes. It is the wrong order. We send it back, they said they would make them again. 2nd set of pizzas come. My mom opens the box, goes to grab a slice and the entire thing is dough. They didn't even cook it! We sent it back and they sent out a 3rd set of pizzas. Finally they were right and cooked. I think we ended up getting them at like 8:00. All I remember is we were hungry and my mom was angry! We got the pizza for free. :D
