Now, all my friends whine about how horrible their Dell computers are, et cetera, but with the three (or is it four? I can't remember) Dell computers we've had, we've been satisfied. With the computer, that is. Their service has always been sucky, from customer service reps treating us like we were stupid when we had a problem ("now t u r n the computer o n. Press the s t a r t button") and their instructions did nothing to fix the problem. Hello, treating me like I'm stupid will NOT make your suggestions suddenly work!
Anyway. Toward the middle of July, I got my Dell Inspiron 8600 in the mail. (Okay, UPS but you know what I mean.) It works great, no complaints. There is a $250 rebate we were supposed to get in the mail shortly thereafter, and we haven't. My dad has called them multiple times to only be told, "It's on its way." Well, yeah, but you told us that in the middle of August and September...I mean, shouldn't it be here by now?
I just joined this group a little while ago, hoping that I would only read it to laugh at the sheer stupidity of some people (not the posters, the assholes they had to go against.) I was wrong.
I moved to the states in 99, after an 11 year stint in South Korea. I'm 22 now, and I was 17 when I moved here. I'll admit to having problems becoming accustomed to some aspects of the American civilian culture (I was raised bouncing between a korean village and a military base,) but some things just push the boundries.
I'm not familiar with the bus systems in my area (Maryland, near Baltimore,) but I usually manage it well enough where I don't get lost. Most of the time, the bus drivers are nice. I unfortunately encountered the asshole of the public bus transportation. And how.
I get on the bus, and after having the guy eyeball my college id for about 5 minutes, I pay my fare and get on. Simple enough, right? Wrong. I put my headphones on. Apparently, you're not supposed to wear them, but the asshat had the sign declaring that covered. Then he started screaming at me to take them off, so he could talk to me.
There was a tiny, old Indian lady who got on at a stop that had been moved a few hundred yards away a few weeks ago. The usual bus driver (this guy was filling in) stops for her. This guy totally blows past her until some of the other passengers speak up. He makes her run up the hill, and then proceeds to bitch the poor woman out as she's paying her fare. She obviously speaks little to no English, and you could see tears welling up in her eyes. He then jerks the bus into motion, and I end up falling out of my seat and onto the floor. I cursed softly in korean, as is my habit when I'm startled. He begins interrogating me about what I just said, like I had said some hoodoo curse to make his bits fall off. He then proceeds to spout racist remarks about everyone, especially Jews, Blacks, and Koreans, after I informed him that I was speaking Korean, because I'm half.
I've filled an official complaint, but the bastard is still up and driving. I may have to start walking to school soon.
Why no one should ever order from Retrodiva.com:
I ordered a pair of blue suede creepers on August 4th. The owner of the company was very kind and made sure my shoes were sent out so I could receive them before I moved to Japan. However, when I received them several days prior, they were black and not blue.
I was instructed to send them back, and that my credit card would be credited with the postage charge. Then they would send me my new pair at my new address. However, the owner went away for several weeks, and disappeared until the middle of September.
When she came back, she decided she was going to send them Economy Surface, which would take several months. I convinced her otherwise, but although it was her mistake, I had to pay the difference in the price for Airmail.
However, before she could send them, she was sent the wrong pair again by her supplier.
Several more weeks go by, because she went away again. Then she finally sends them.
I receive them, October 23rd, and they're the wrong size. She apologizes and says she'll send the correct pair out the next day.
The shoes are blue, but not an attractive blue. They're a gross grayish color. She altered the image on the site to show the blue as a bright, cobalt blue (and admitted to it also), when in reality they are nothing like the color, and honestly nothing I'd ever want to wear.
Two weeks later, she asks me if I've sent the shoes yet, because she's waiting for me to send them before she sends me the correct pair.
Then she subscribes me to the site's mailing list.
I tell her I'm sending the shoes out now, and if she could please send me my pair (as she promised weeks ago) so I'd get them before December 1st. She tells me she won't send them until she receives the pair she sent me in error.
So I cancel my order.
I'm still waiting to hear back from her. Through all this trouble, has she offered a discount? A coupon? Anything? Nothing. It's been almost four months and all I get for being pushed around is a bad attitude.
EDIT: I heard back from her... She's expecting me to pay a 15% restocking fee if I want to return the shoes (WHICH I DON'T HAVE)!
