My employee dropped off a $1600 deposit from Saturday Nov 22nd to them via their drop box on Wednesday Nov 26th, the day before Thanksgiving, along with three other weekly deposits.
Three come back with validated slips, but where oh where is my $1600 deposit?
I talk to the bank & they said they never got it. I talked to my employee who told me she dropped it off. The bank checked the tapes, & yep, there she is, dropping off some deposits, but they can't tell which they were.
I'm 99.9% sure she dropped it off because she values her job, never had an issue before, & no write ups. I know it's the holidays but I trust her for all the right reasons, so I ask the bank to check inside their drop off bin because it's been known that sometimes the deposit bags slide down under. It happened at my store with a deposit a few years back, & one of the workers there confirmed that sometimes it happens.
I've yet to hear any real confirmation besides "It's very expensive to take that apart.......time consuming too...are you sure we have it?...What if one of your employees stole it...We're a government establishment here, we don't lose things..." I know it's a long shot, but I verified with every other key holder that no, we don't have it, they checked their cars as well as me, no one was in the office, the deposits were in a safe, & my employee is SURE she dropped it off. They told me Monday or Tuesday a tech would come out & take out the drop box but they haven't yet & we've been getting "maybe tomorrow!" answers. My assistant & I have been calling twice a day & talking to three different people who give us the run around..
CAN YOU PLEASE JUST CHECK BECAUSE IT'S MY JOB ON THE LINE. I WILL PAY WHATEVER SERVICE FEE IT IS TO HAVE THAT DROP BOX OPENED. HELL, MY COMPANY MIGHT EVEN PAY, BUT I NEED TO KNOW THAT IF YOU DON'T HAVE $1600 OF MINE IN THAT DROP BOX, THAT I NEED TO FIRE SOMEONE OR FIND A NICE WARM SPOT IN THE UNEMPLOYEMENT LINE.
Jesus, sometimes I just wanna shake someone like a baby. If it's not there, I will thank them for the time they spent helping me & get them all REALLY big gifts this year for xmas, but for God's sake I've been shitting kittens for over a week about this deposit, could they fuck with me any more than they already are? If it was my own personal check deposit that got lost I would still be pissed, but I wouldn't be SOSOSO up there ass about it, but my boss is breathing down my neck because his boss is breathing down his neck, & it's causing me to breath down my employees neck.
I will hand deliver those deposits with a little bow & ribbon on from now on.
(I'm validating this as bad_service due to the fact they won't send someone out as a priority, but it's retarded_service on my end for being a store manager who has lost a $1600 deposit, techinically. So I know my place, :)! )
