a couple USPS sucks

1) I sent a package off priority mail Saturday morning. Paid extra for priority because I was a day late sending it due to the post office being open pretty much the hours I worked. It's not that it's supposed to be where its going by a certain day, I just wanted it there faster so I paid the extra. I also took the "tracking" that was offered. (note: the clerk did offer it as TRACKING and confirmation). So I've been trying to track it and see where it is the past day or two, since it was, according to the clerk, supposed to be delivered yesterday. Every time I send something with DC, I can generally get a good idea of where the package is. Not this time. It still says it was "accepted" saturday morning at the post office i took it to. When I called the USPS help line, the woman i spoke to was quite condescending in informing me that priority mail, while generally 2-3 days, its not "guaranteed" and to wait 5-6 business days before I should try to get the DC again, oh and that D.C. NEVER includes tracking, that it it is scanned at all between acceptance and delivery, its merely a courtesy.

2) Arrive home from work to find my trashcan knocked into my mailbox to the point that the mailbox is almost on its side. Also, my outgoing mail has not been picked up. It was still in there this morning. This is not the first time this has happened. Sometimes the trashcan will be knocked over completely blocking my driveway. I work all day, I can't run home in the middle of the day to put the trash can away, so it's there til i get home. I've seen the postman just drive into the trashcans at other houses if they're still out and knock them over/into things/etc and just not bother. I'm just glad there was nothing too time-sensitive going out(just my netflix, GRRR), because after the day I'd had i was NOT in the mood to get back in my car and drive all the way out to the only PO thats open late.
