Me: Thirsty twitcher who wants refreshment
BM: barmaid
Me: A Diet Coke please.
BM: *gets glass, starts to squirt Diet Pepsi on draught into it*
Me: *interupting quickly* Um..excuse me, are you sure that's Diet Coke? (tries to be vaguely diplomatic and not say to her face that she's pouring the wrong drink)
BM: *looks angry* Yes, it is. *finishes and gives me drink*
ME: *sips drink* I'm sorry, that's Diet Pepsi. I ordered Diet Coke. I'd like a Diet Coke, please.
At which point she invariably gets angry, even though the mistake was hers. Every time.
Alernatively:
Me: A Diet Coke please.
BM: *gets glass, starts to squirt Diet Pepsi on draught into it*
Me: Er, excuse me, that's Diet Pepsi, isn't it?
BM: Yes, because that's what you asked for! *continues to fill glass*
Me: Er sorry, but I ordered Diet Coke.
BM: *glance of death* *snarl*
I know a lot of pubs only serve one kind of cola, and assume that anyone ordering any kind of cola wants the one they have (not good, but kind of understandable), but when your pub sells BOTH Coke and Pepsi, surely you should listen to which one the ustomer asked for and provide it accordingly? And why do they do it _every_ time?
