More bad hair.

I'm an oldie with C_S, but I've lurked here for the past two months or so :] I like to think I'm an extremely patient and understanding person (maybe to a fault), so even though I've had bad service in the past 2 months I've been lurking, I have to be REALLY pissed about something to post. Et voila, my first post :]

I went to Trade Secrets to get my hair done for prom. I've been a tomboy all my life (went to grade 8 grad in a pantsuit and ponytail), and have never had my hair done before and never plan on doing it again. I tried to convince my mom it was a waste of money, but she was willing to pay for it so I agreed to get it done.

This is a picture of my hair naturally, to show the natural wave (however when I got my hair done for prom, I had dyed the underside a dark brown):

I met with the hairdresser, and showed her this reference picture

I told her that my hair is already naturally very wavy/curly, and I just want more defined waves like in the picture. Just long, very natural thin waves because my face is VERY round and I didn't want big curls. She said it was no problem, and it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. I guess my first clue should have been that when I went to hand her the reference picture, she put it on the ground beside me face-down. But I figured it isn't a complicated style, so maybe she doesn't need the picture.

She turned my chair to the side (away from the mirror) and used a flat iron to curl it. After she had done all of the back, she lifted a small mirror to show it to me. I told her it looked very pretty, but I was hoping it'd be more... natural. Longer, and thinner. She told me that it would drop soon because of the humidity, and not to worry. So I tried not to.
And this is what I ended up with.

Yeah. I looked like a fucking poodle, except poodles pull it off better. My mom thought it was gorgeous, and everyone gave compliments, but I don't really care. It isn't what I asked for, plain and simple. I had a picture, there's no excuse. My mom had already pre-paid before she dropped me off, so I couldn't refuse payment. When I got home from prom my mom told me she'd charged her $60 for it. Wtf?  I could have come out of the shower and had a smilar style, for free (I think prom's overrated. I spent $100 on my dress, $30 on my shoes, and did my own makeup. To spend $60 on hair is outrageous to me). I was pretty pissed to say the least, not because it was "prom", but because she had a picture and just didn't do it.

I wish we could have done something about it, but it turns out the girl who cut my hair also manages the place, and she didn't see anything wrong with it.  Oh well, I had a good time anyway. I just thought I'd warn the rest of you out there :]

Edited for link problems. D: Sorry, have to direct it.
