One time, I went into the video game store by my work with the intent on buying a game; there were three employees chatting with each other at the counter and the store was empty. They didn't acknowledge me when I came in (it's a small store, they definitely saw me), didn't offer to help me, just went right on talking about a party and some friend of theirs. I actually saw several games I was interested in, but decided to put off buying them because of the employees.
Naturally, as I was leaving, a group of young men came in and the employees stopped what they were doing and were all, "Hey guys, can we help you?"
Clearly because I'm a girl, I don't like video games and won't buy any; I'm only there because I got lost on my way to the Clothing, Makeup and Ponies store.
(On the plus side, I went in the next day and the staff, despite being quite busy, were very friendly and helpful. Guess it all depends on who's working when you go in.)
