When I got the sandwich, I noticed it looked a little plain. I opened it up, and... no basil! I checked the menu to be sure that it was supposed to be on the sandwich, and it was, so I went to the counter and asked for some. The person at the counter said: "Is it not on there?" When I said no, he said, "Well, it should have been." He took the sandwich fixed it, gave it back, and I took it to my table. I opened it up to show my boyfriend the now-added basil... only to see cilantro in its place.
Not quite the same.
It's a small thing, really, and I was a bit too embarrassed to go back to the counter for a second time and have them re-make the sandwich completely, but still... if I went to the counter to ask for basil, wouldn't the person know that I was aware of my herbs, and wanted that particular one? If they didn't have any basil left, which is what I suspect happened, they shouldn't have just thrown on whatever greeny things were around.
And mozzarella and cilantro just tastes... well... not quite as good.
