I bought a toaster from the US (a Pooh & Pals one which toasts Tigger's face on one slice of bread and Pooh on the other) not quite knowing if it would work here (the UK) or not just because it's so damn adorable.
It costs $17 plus $25 ro ship it, not a big deal when you convert the funds to UK money. A decent price for a toaster, if a little high for a 2 slice one. I promptly forgot as Iv'e not been the eBay whore I used to be and was checking something out today and planned on filling a complaint with paypal before the time ran out (It was paid for on the 30th of Aug) and I got screwed. Seeing as you don't need to escalate anything for a while it seemed a way to both secure me and not screw up the seller because hey, mistakes happen. When i ckicked on the trans ID I saw that it had been refunded.
The reason? It would have cost the moron an extra .60c to send itso she refunded my money. WHAT WORLD DO YOU LIV E IN LADY???!!! You charged $25 and just because it costs more doesn't mean you can just decide to refund me WITHOUT FREAKIN' CONTACT! Funny thing is, despite the fact I am not legally bound by eBay's TOS, I would have happily paid extra to cover the added shipping and fees if she'd contacted me. I don't know about you but I have a separate email for my paypal. I don't like something linked with money being put with an email that I use frivously 'just in case'.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooo
PS: Anyone know of a way to either set comms you view in YOUR style or a simple, low tech non flashy version of lj? When I've got nowt on at work b_s and c_s make great time passing tools, unfortunately I don't think the bosses would agree however if they have no work for me to do sitting there looking perky doing n o t h i n g for 9 hours is not fun and will turn me into a crazy person who will moider them with a ruler so really it's best all-round.
