I ordered a textbook off of half.com for a class. I ordered it last Monday. The description said it would ship in 48 hours. I needed the book as soon as possible, so I ordered expedited shipping. The book wasn't shipped til Thursday, but I could deal with that. Fast forward to today, when I'm seriously wondering what happened because it's been a week and the book I ordered from a different seller was at my house in 2 days. I open my mailbox and there's the book. Two problems: First of all, it was sent via media mail, hence the week long delay. I paid $4 more in shipping than I needed to. Even that would have been fine, but when I opened the package, it was a study guide for the book, not the book itself. The description of my order clearly states: "Essentials of Abnormal Pyschology" - it doesn't say ANYTHING about a study guide.
I'm extremely, extremely pissed. I have a test in this class on Sunday, and there's NO WAY I can get a book by then, unless I pay a ridiculous price (with money I desperately need to not spend). They don't even have it at the library.
I emailed the seller this:
I ordered this book from you under the impression that I was getting the actual textbook. Instead, when I received the book, I had been given a study guide for the book, which does me absolutely no good. Also, I paid the extra for expedited shipping, and the package says it was sent through media mail. I needed the book for this class by this Sunday, and I now have no way of getting it in time. If you have the correct book, which was what I was informed I was buying, I would appreciate having it. If you don't, I would at least like my money back, as I paid you for something I didn't order and for a shipping method I didn't receive.
Hopefully, it will all work out. I'm waiting until I get an answer to give her a rating, but it's not going to be a good one either way.
