I'm a teenager; 16, and will be 17 in less than a month (whoo!). I know a lot of people have stereotypes about teenagers, and I will agree that there is substantial evidence to back them up. However, I would appreciate it if people would treat me like a human rather than scum the minute they meet me.
Why is it every time I go to a store without my parents and go to pay, the clerks don't greet me, don't make eye contact, and basically ignore me throughout the entire transaction? I always make sure to make eye contact, smile and say hello, and say thank you at the end.
I'm a teenager, not the Devil.
