A few weeks ago I went to my local TGI Fridays with some work friends. I ordered vegetarian enchiladas but the same dish had a chicken option. The meals did take slightly longer than usual to arrive but the place was packed. My food arrived and it was a little colder than I preferred. However, I decided to plough ahead and eat it.
Until I saw what looked like chicken in my food. I accidentally ate a piece of chicken but I wasn't too freaked out. I only gave up most meat a few months ago so I didn't feel too bad. So I called over the waitress and explained the situation. Her response was "Oh my God are you going to cry?" A bit of a strange question to ask but made sense when she said exactly the same thing had happened last week and the customer began to cry.
I got a new portion that was piping hot and chicken free. The waitress was so panicky I didn't want to complain. But I really hope she learns that vegetarian option means NO meat.
EDIT: I wasn't trying to blame the waitress but I just looked at the last section I wrote. As other posters have written it could have been a busy chef who read the note wrong or something like that. In all honesty I was more taken aback by her asking me if I was going to cry than finding chicken in my meal ;-)
