There was a woman IHOP had hired walking around, making balloon animals. She stopped by our table and asked if the boys would want balloon animals. I said yes, and she got started. My 5 y/o wanted a dinosaur. While she was making it, she started asking him if he knew the story of Adam and Eve. At this point I began to get a bit uncomfortable. She continud on, saying "I know SOME scientists say that dinosaurs were around millions of years ago, but it was really only a few thousand years, according to the Bible. You know Adam and Eve probably walked WITH the dinosaurs! They've found human footprints right alongside dinosaur ones!"
Now, I don't have a problem with fundies. But I have a big problem with them coming up to my kid in a restaurant, under the guise of making balloon animals, and filling their heads with distortions like that. I don't appreciate IHOP sponsering prostelytizing. I wrote a comment card to IHOP on their website since their manager was running hither and yon at the restaurant.
