Update to Hospital bad service & additional police bad service. TW: rape/sexual assualt

RE: http://bad-service.livejournal.com/3281182.html

I posted about a horrific and traumatic experience with my local hospital - I sent a complaint email to the hospital admin, threatening to go to the local news with my story, and unsurprisingly, I very quickly received several phone calls from hospital staff. I just hung up with the head of the ER at said hospital and he was very nice and very apologetic, surprisingly, and I was pleased with what he had to say. He basically said what happened to me was unacceptable and that he was going to recommend further SA training for all ER staff to the higher hospital admins, and that those staff members that had specifically hurt me (the intake nurse who shamed me for not coming in sooner, and the tech who berated me for vomiting in the wrong receptacle) would be reprimanded. So, I told him I'm fine with that, it's small potatoes compared to what I'm dealing with on the other end of this mess.

In my last post, I mentioned that my rapist had been arrested. He has not. Last weekend I was called into the police station for a photo array line-up, where I was able to pick him out accurately. The sergeant who conducted the lineup and who took my statement told me that an arrest warrant would be issued that weekend and I would be notified when he was arrested. That was Saturday, it is now Thursday and no warrant has been issued. Fine, I am not ignorant of the legal system, I am minoring in law, I get that these things can be slow-going. However, on Monday, I called the SVU Detective in charge of my case to check in and see why no warrant had been issued since the sergeant had told me it would be ... and he NEVER called me back. That was Monday, this is Thursday ... that is unacceptable to me. I am afraid to leave my house at this point, and have only done so today to get to therapy, and it was hugely traumatic, because I had to take the bus, which is how/where I was assaulted. And this is Rhode Island ... it's not crazy to think I might run into my rapist at a bus stop again somewhere. I also called my so-called "advocate" at the police station on Tuesday and she has yet to get back to me. I just want someone to explain WHY ... if they they're not moving forward with charges, or what, but not knowing is making me crazy. I can't see why anyone can't be bothered to call me back. :/
