Why would you need to know that we didn't give you what you paid for?

This is relayed bad service, happened to my parents in another province.  She was shoveling her car out of the driveway and found a flat tire.  There wasn't space to replace the tire where it was sitting, so she called CAA, and they replaced it with the spare.  They found a huge gash in the side of the flat one, so they told my dad to be careful when he took it to get a replacement.  Not the bad service.  On his way to get a new tire, the spare popped, so he had to call CAA again and have the car towed to the shop, where they found a broken spring, strut, and UB? joint (my mom wasn't really clear), which is what had destroyed both tire.

Not a small amount of money later, all the bits were repaired, a new tire put on the car and a new spare purchased as well.  Mom drove the car for two weeks, no problems.  Then yesterday she was cleaning out the trunk when she noticed that the floor piece that covers the spare was askew.  It wasn't until she went to adjust it that she realised there was no spare in the well!  She called the shop, and they said that the tire my dad bought for a spare didn't fit in the well, and they didn't think he would want it just sitting in the trunk, so they hadn't put it in.  And never bothered to mention this fact, because you know, people don't usually want to take their recently purchased items with them
