Today, I went to a garden centre with my mum. My mum stood at the entrance waiting for me, because I was buying and she wasn't. I went up to the nearest cash register and stood. And waited (not long but still). The cashier looked up at me. Her customers, a man and a woman, stood in front of her. They had already bought their stuff and they were just chatting away. The customers turned round too, looked at me stood there with my items, turned back and just carried on chatting.
I ended up getting served by a nice gentleman further up, and I'm glad that I did because he was really friendly.
I know it's nothing major, but this is a big pet peeve of mine. When I'm on till and have got customers waiting, I don't stop what I'm doing and ignore my customers to have a chat! I don't understand how people actually do it.
